Founded over two decades ago, Gray & Walter Associates is continuing to enjoy the process of making our client’s dreams become a reality. Our expansive experience in interior design has taken us from Chicago’s Gold Coast, throughout the state and as far away any client wishes to go.
Kenneth Walter, principal, graduated from Brooks College in Long Beach, California. He worked for three small interior design firms and global giant HBA prior to establishing his firm Gray & Walter, which was originally known as Ann Milligan Gray Inc.

We have been recipients of Chicago Home Book Gold Award in four categories and Best Interior Design Firm in Chicago by Crain’s Chicago Business 2004. We have been published in Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Chicago Home & Garden, Restaurant & Hotel Design and the Chicago Tribune.

Kenneth Walter, president of Gray & Walter Associates, describes his work as “eclectic classicism”. It is terrific to work with clients who enjoy the process of interior design. The process of creating bespoke interiors can be challenging due to crazy vendors and long lead times, our belief that quality takes time can try us all, but the final outcome can really be life altering.
- Would you say you have a certain style?

Our expertise is in creating all types of interior design as we’re not trapped in a specific style. The style of the project is determined by the location, architecture of the edifice and client’s personality and lifestyle. We also assist clients who wish to assemble art and antique collections or merely laying the whole collection out again when they move into a new space. We also specialize in contemporary interiors.
