More About Me

What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?

I was recently named one of The New Tastemakers for 2007 by House & Garden magazine. I received Traditional Home’s 1998 design award, have designed signature exterior furnishings for Lyle & Umbach, and was published in Traditional Home, Boston Design, and Boston Home & Garden. I have created showhouses for both the Jewish Community Center of the North Shore and the Boston Junior League.

Would you say you have a certain style?

My fresh approach blends color, texture, furniture styles and artistic highlights to create a sense of place and enhance livability. Warmth, wit, bringing the outdoors inside, and whimsy are all hallmarks of my award-winning style.

What is your approach to working with clients?

The client is central to my process. I begin a project with no preconceived notions and finds that collaborating with a client is what makes a project both stimulating and rewarding. To me, the close involvement of clients results in successful projects.

One client said it best: “The process of designing my home with Mark was worth everything. Decisions were not made for me but were made with me. At the beginning, I was living in a home that was new to me. But because I was part of the process I now feel emotionally attached to my home. Mark made it a wonderful, pleasurable and painless experience.”
