Project Details
The large assortment of materials apparent in this kitchen is sure to please the senses without overwhelming them. Wood, granite, and tiles are all employed to give a classical European feel to the space. The contrasts apparent in these materials, however, is what makes the room truly unique.
The cabinetry mounted on the walls (as separate pieces) varies in height and in the inclusion of iron framed glass details but is symmetric around the ornate range hood, which draws the most attention in the room. The wood in the floors and the island are of a lighter variety than the wall mounted cabinetry and in this contrast the detailing of the lower half of the room is highlighted.
The varying stone in the room seems to communicate a meeting between the blue-green granite counter tops and the marble-white range top. Even the small rugs, admittedly modest on their own, share in the lavish feel of the room by sharing the tone of the granite.
