exas is a state that thinks big. Big hair, big hats, big hearts: All are hallmarks of a Texan approach to life. Rick Hawkins, an Austin-based businessman, doesn’t hesitate to think big in everything that interests him, from politics to philanthropy; so, when he spotted a Tuscan-style house straddling a bluff 100 feet above Austin’s Town Lake and river, he was taken not only with the unrivaled 180-degree view of the city skyline, but also with the idea of crafting a multifaceted home base that would accommodate his myriad passions. To expedite his vision, he turned to Dick Clark Architecture, a local firm noted for modernist residential designs that reflect the Texas Hill Country’s unique regional heritage.

The compound idea serves the site well. By having disparate building, the exterior is superbly integrated as a part of the actual structure.
This is perhaps the most ideal space on the plant with which to work… what a heavenly home! That pool is simply unbelievable. The windows, lights, and decor of this house are absolutely breathtaking.
