Project Details
This home is located within the active limits of the
Keith Avenue slide area, which is believed to be greater
than one hundred feet deep and which moves at an average
of 1/8" per year. Therefore, in order to resist ground
movement, mat foundations were used on both the house
and garage structures.
The home is divided into several distinct spaces, all
interconnected by a series of hallways, staircases
and/or passageways. The living and dining room form one
space, the library is housed in a vertical volume, and
the kitchen, utility and master bedroom are located in a
bar-shaped area on the northeast side of the house.
Several other bedrooms are located below the living
room. In addition, an outdoor living room was added on
the roof of the indoor living room. A garden was added
